HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Houston Astros announced their All-Star third-baseman, Alex Bregman, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow this morning.

The 24-year-old needed the surgery to remove loose bodies (typically loose cartilage and bone fragments) from his right elbow.

Astros President of Baseball Operations and General Manager, Jeff Luhnow made the announcement this morning.

The teams said that Bregman should be ready before the start of the season, but will be limited at the start of Spring Training.

The Astros begin the season in Tampa on March 28, 2019.
