Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The rough first innings returned for Dallas Keuchel Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park. The first three Mariners would all get hits and eventually score in what became a blowout loss for the Astros by a final score of 9-0. Keuchel managed to make it through five innings despite being hit in the head on a line drive off the bat of Kyle Seager in the first inning.

"Kind of laughed it off with Seager. I was not expecting Seager to hit the ball up-the-middle off me," Dallas said. "Just took one off the dome, but very fortunate and we'll see how I feel tomorrow, but so far so good."

After being hit, he retired the next twelve batters before running into trouble and giving up two more runs. In all, Keuchel allowed five runs on six hits while walking two and striking out three. There have been just four outings in his last 18 starts where he has surrendered five or more runs.

Out of the bullpen, Dean Deetz made his second career appearance, but could not finish his inning and allowed three hits including a home run. Cionel Perez made his first appearance since August 15th and also gave up a dinger. Brad Peacock gave up a home run as well, and Chris Devenski finshed the ninth inning with a clean three-up-three-down.

The Houston lineup was dormant against seven Seattle pitchers, coming up with just five hits. Yuli Gurriel had two of them going 2-for-4 with two singles and extended his hitting streak to six games. The Astros had no extra-base hits and reached second base just twice.
