HOUSTON, TX (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Jalen Hurts made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon, via the Players Tribune, that he has graduated and will "take his talents to the University of Oklahoma."

In the article, the east Houston native thanked those at Alabama, his coach Nick Saban, and his teammates.

"But the education that I received at Alabama goes beyond a degree. Coach Saban taught me the values and principles of business, as well as what it takes to be a great leader. My teammates taught me the importance of togetherness, brotherhood, and love. And this past season……. it taught me a lifetime’s worth of lessons about how to deal with adversity."

In 2017, Hurts completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 2,081 yards and 17 touchdowns to just one interception. He also rushed for 855 yards and eight scores at 5.6 yards per clip.

Hurts ended the article with a note to the fans of OU and a note to the fans of Alabama:

"So to my about-to-be family in Norman, I truly appreciate you for bringing me on board," Hurts wrote. "Y'all don't know me yet......... but just for now, to introduce myself: I'm a motivated coach's son from the Eastside of Houston, and I love to play ball.

"And to my Bama family, once again, THANK YOU -- for everything. It's been a great three years. I'll love you until the end of time!"

Hurts may not be the proficient passer like Tua Tagovailoa, but in his last full season as a starter at Alabama,  Hurts completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 2,081 yards and 17 touchdowns to just one interception. He also rushed for 855 yards and eight scores at 5.6 yards per clip.
