Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Gerrit Cole has ten career double-digit strikeout games, four of those have come in his first six starts as an Astro, including Sunday's game against the A's. He had another commanding outing going 6.2 innings and striking out 12. Unfortunately, Cole would walk away from the game without a decision but the Astros would win by a final score of 8-4 to take the series over the Athletic's.

Cole has struck out 61 batters in April which ties Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling for the most to start a season since 2002. That many strikeouts also stands as a record in Astros history with Gerrit being the fourth pitcher to strike out at least 60 hitters in a single calendar month. He also finished April with a 1.73 ERA and walked just 8 hitters.
