Dynamo Back At Home

Look To End Two Match Skid

June 08, 2018 - 5:18 pm

HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – When Colorado comes to Houston Saturday both teams will be looking to end losing skids.

The Dynamo have lost their last two MLS matches, both last week and both on the road.  The latest was a 1-0 loss at Montreal.

A two-match losing skid is nothing compared to Colorado’s draught.  The Rapids have lost seven straight MLS losses and eight straight in all competitions when including Wednesday’s loss against Nashville SC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The last Rapids win came against a reserve Toronto squad on April 14.

Last place Colorado has been paced in the goal column by Dominque Badji’s five goals on the year while Johan Blomberg leads the team with three assists.  The 39-year-old Tim Howard is still going strong in goal as the only two Colorado wins this year have been when Howard produces a clean sheet.

Alberth Elis continues to lead the Dynamo with eight goals, and leads the MLS with 28 shots on goal.  Romell Quioto is the team leader in assists with six, which ranks third in the MLS.

The Dynamo will regain some much-needed depth in the back for Saturday’s match.  Alejandro Fuenmayor is back after serving a two-game suspension, and Philippe Senderos returned from an injury on Wednesday during the win in the U.S. Open Cup.

Revenge may also be on the mind of the Dynamo as their lone home loss last season came against Colorado after the team returned home for the first time after Hurricane Harvey.

Listen to Saturday’s match with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. on SportsRadio 610.
