Dynamo Finally Back In Action

First Trip To The West Coast

April 13, 2018 - 3:34 pm

HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – After a two-week absence, the Dynamo take their first west coast trip of the year as they are in San Jose to face the Earthquakes Saturday.

The Dynamo (1-2-1) haven’t played since a 2-0 loss on March 31 against New England.  The Dynamo’s road trip to face the New York Red Bulls was rescheduled because of New York’s run through the CONCACAF Champion’s League.

With an early season off week and the rescheduled match, the Dynamo have played just twice in the last month.  In addition to the lack of games, the Dynamo have not played particularly well in their last three matches with two home losses and a draw against D.C. United after leading 2-0 at half time.

While it’s early in the season, the Dynamo head to San Jose below the line in the Western Conference table.  Like the Dynamo, the Earthquakes are 1-2-1 in their first four matches.

San Jose won their first match of the season against Minnesota and then lost back-to-back games before snapping their losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Philadelphia last week.

Danny Hoesen and Vako are tied for the team’s lead in goals while Chris Wondolowski, the second leading goal scorer in MLS history, has one so far through four matches.

Alberth Elis and Mauro Manotas share the Dynamo lead in goals with two apiece.  Elis also leads the Dynamo in assists with three.

Listen to Saturday’s match with coverage starting at 9:00 p.m. on Sports Radio 610.
