Home For Portland Saturday

September 13, 2018 - 4:32 pm

HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – After the MLS international break last week, the Dynamo return to the pitch for the first time in 14 days when they host Portland on Saturday.

The last time the Dynamo were on the field was a 4-2 loss at the hands of FC Dallas on September 1.  The loss extended the Dynamo winless streak to 10 matches in a row.

Now desperate for a victory, and seeing their playoff chances continue to diminish, the Dynamo face a Portland side that is undefeated in their last three, but had lost four in a row before their recent streak.

As far as the postseason is concerned, the Dynamo currently sit 13 points behind sixth-place Seattle with seven to play.  The Dynamo also sit 16 points behind fifth-place Portland, who they will have a chance to gain on beginning Saturday.

Mauro Manotas leads the Dynamo with 12 goals on the season, while Alberth Elis is on his heels with 10 this season.  2017 Landon Donovan MLS MVP, Diego Valeri, leads the Timbers with 10 goals on the year.

Listen to Saturday’s match beginning with a 7 p.m. prematch show on 95.7 HD3, or the app.
