HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Eric Gordon returned to the Rockets lineup Wednesday night, but did not return after leaving in the third quarter due to right knee soreness.

"His Knee was a little sore, and he was getting towards his minutes (limit)," Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni said after the Rockets 145-142 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. "We thought it would be cautiious to just not push him anymore.

"I hope it's nothing more than soreness, general soreness."

After missing eight straight games with right a right knee contusion, Gordon scored 20 points in 21 minutes against the Nets. Before the game, D'Antoni indicated that he wouldn't play more than 24 minutes.

"Well it's sore," Gordon said. "It's almost kind of what we expected, and it just got more sore as the game went along, and you can expect that, but it's feeling ok, and I really wasn't going to play a ton of minutes like that anyway, so that was really the gameplan."

The Rockets will practice Friday after taking Thursday off in preparations for Saturday night's game against the the Los Angeles Lakers at Toyota Center.
