Harden Named MVP Finalist

Harden joins Giannis Antetokounmpo and Paul George as finalists

Rockets guard James Harden is a finalist to win his second straight NBA Most Valuable Player Award, the league announced Friday.

Harden, a finalist for the third straight year, joins Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Oklahoma City's Paul George as the top three for the NBA's most prestigious award. 

The Rockets guard can become the first player since Stephen Curry in 2015 and 2016 to repeat as MVP.

He and Antetokounmpo are expected to finish in the top two for MVP when it is announced at the NBA Awards Show June 24 in Santa Monica, CA. Harden finished second in the MVP race in 2015 and 2017.
