HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - Outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett signed a one-year extension with the Houston Texans, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal with worth $3.75 million, which includes $1.875 million guaranteed, according to SportsRadio 610 Texans insider John McClain.

Scarlett is expected to replace Jadeveon Clowney in the starting lineup opposite Whitney Mercilus.

Clowney, who fired his agent nearly two weeks ago, has yet to sign his franchise tender and the team is considering trade proposals.

Scarlett has played in 30 games and started in eight since the Texans signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He’s logged 54 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
