"I plan to wear an Astros' uniform, hopefully for a long time." - McCuller Jr.

HOUSTON, TX (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Once the season was over, we all found out that the Houston Astros were banged up more than we knew.

Jose Altuve, the Astros All-Star second-baseman had surgery on his right knee the day after the season ended.

Another question was about the elbow of Lance McCullers Jr.

McCullers Jr. joined SportsRadio 610's Mad Radio and discussed his situation and health.

"I'll say what I said at the end of the game, there [are> still things that we still kinda have to work out. There [are> still doctors needed to be seen," said McCullers Jr. "It may be a little while for me. I think what's important to understand about me as a person and a player is - I just turned 25 years old - I think my best days, especially in an Astros uniform are still ahead of me. Regardless of what happens to me, I think our team is in a good place for 2019 and I'll be ready to contribute when my time comes again."

"For me, life is a lot about that old saying about how you react to what's thrown at you,' McCullers said when asked how he would handle being out for an extended period of time. "Regardless of what the situation is and regardless of what the decision is, you just got to do your best in the situation you're given. I put a lot of myself, a lot of my effort and focus into whatever I am doing, regardless if that's suiting up and getting ready to go in 2019, or if it's rehab - whatever the case that maybe that's going to be determined in the next couple of weeks. I'm ready for whatever. I plan to wear an Astros uniform, hopefully for a long time and I still feel that my best days and future championships are in me.".

You can hear Lance McCuller Jr. every Thursday at 8:20 on Mad Radio on SportsRadio 610.
