Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Corbin Martin struck out nine through 5.1 innings pitched, allowing just three hits and two runs in his Major League debut. The Houston offense continued its ruthless tear of opposing pitching with 18 hits, including four home runs. The Astros won their fifth game in a row and completed the sweep with a 15-5 victory over the Rangers.

Two mistakes came in Martin's debut that cost him the two earned runs. A solo home run by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and a walk to Shin-Soo Choo would eventually score after Collin McHugh cashed in the run in relief. Overall a well crafted outing on just 80 total pitches.

George Springer started the game for the offense with his fifth leadoff home run of the season and went 5-for-5 with three singles and two home runs in his ninth career multi-home run game. Alex Bregman followed with his third career multi-homer game, and second of the season while going 3-for-5. Other hot bats included Carlos Correa's three-hit day, and Tony Kemp going 3-for-5 with a triple.

Springer also became the first player in Astros history with five hits and to score five runs in a game.

The Astros have won eight of their last nine games and remain undefeated at home against the Rangers. They also finished the seven-game home stand with just one loss. It was also their fifth sweep of the season.
