HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Houston Astros made it official. Michael Brantley and the Astros finalized a $32 million, two-year contract.

Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2005, Brantley was traded to Cleveland in 2008 and made his major league debut in September of 2009. While in Cleveland, Brantley was named an All-Star three times.

Last season, Brantley hit .309 with 17 home runs, 76 RBI in 631 plate appearances. Brantley is a career .295 hitter, hitting 87 home runs and 528 RBIs and gives Houston another solid option at the plate.

Astros pitcher, Lance McCullers Jr. tweeted his approval when he heard about the signing.

The Astros plan to rotate Brantley between left field, first base, and DH.
