“You’ll get an injury report when the season starts.  Right now, I’ll tell you that he’s out of practice per the head coach’s discretion,” O’Brien told the media following practice on Tuesday.

John McClain of Sports Radio 610 and the Houston Chronicle, has reported that Kalil is dealing with a foot injury after being stepped on during last Wednesday’s joint practice with Detroit.

O’Brien said that Kalil was his starting left tackle following Saturday’s win against Detroit, and doubled down on that on Tuesday.

“Yes, I do,” O’Brien said when he was asked if he expected Kalil to start in Week 1.
