HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Wade Miley, for the second straight start, couldn’t make it out of the first inning in the Astros’ 21-7 loss to Oakland Tuesday night.

“I’d be lying if I’m sitting here telling you that I’m not thinking, ‘what the hell is going on?’” Miley told the media following Tuesday’s loss.

Miley gave up seven runs in seven hits, and recorded just one out in Tuesday’s loss, which snapped his seven-game winning streak.

Five nights ago, against Seattle, Miley failed to record a single out before he was pulled from the game.  In that start, Miley gave up five runs on five hits.

In those two starts, Miley has surrendered 12 runs on 12 hits in 0.1 IP accounting for a 324.03 era.  Despite the staggering numbers, his manager thinks he’ll figure it out.

“I have a lot of confidence in him, and it takes one good start to get this taste out of your mouth and that feeling of doom,” Astros Manager A.J. Hinch said following Miley’s start.  “It’s been a rough couple of games for him and I feel for him, because he’s executing okay, but he’s not getting the outs that he was accustom to getting for five months.  We’ll keep working to try to find solutions and answers, he’s not going to concede or give up.”
