Houston finishes its preseason record at 1-3 with its only win coming against the Detroit Lions.

The Texans struck first Thursday night with a short touchdown pass to tight end Jerell Adams in the opening quarter.

On the previous play, Joe Webb III scrambled out of the pocket on 4th and 6 for a 32-yard run to put Houston in striking distance.

That was the only time the Texans’ offense reached the end zone.

After trading 3-and-outs, the Rams answered with a nine-play, 72-yard touchdown drive, capped by John Wolford rolling to his right to find Kendall Blanton for a 12-yard touchdown throw.

Ka'imi Fairbairn's 39-yard FG gave the Texans a 10-7 lead over the Rams with 3:03 to go in the 2nd quarter.

Houston never led or scored again.

The second half was all Rams.

Justin Davis scored on a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the Rams ahead. They added a two-point conversion.

The Rams scored again on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Wolford to Nsimba Webster.

Thursday night’s game was a chance for players on the fringes of the roster to make their last impressions before rosters are finalized Saturday afternoon.
