HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Ka’imi Fairbairn missed two extra points against Atlanta to up his total of missed kicks to five on the season.

“Anytime you look at it, it’s about the whole operation.  I think he’s had plenty of time with Bryan (Anger), he’s got to make the kicks.  He (Fairbairn) knows that, he’d be the first to tell you that, Ka’imi is a great teammate, good guy and he knows it’s just a matter of plant foot and he’s pushing it a little bit.  He’ll come back better this week.”

In 2019, Fairbairn has missed a total of three extra points and a pair of field goals.  In 2018, Fairbairn missed a total of seven kicks the entire season with only two missed extra points and five missed field goals.

The extra points are especially puzzling as Fairbairn connected on 39 of his 41 attempts last year while beginning 2019 making 14 of his 17 point after tries.

O’Brien mentions the operation of a kick, which has changed since last year, and the beginning of the season as the Texans cut Trevor Daniel and signed Bryan Anger to take over punting and holding duties.
