HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- On Friday, the Texans placed guard Jeff Allen on the physically unable to perform list, but when asked about his status Saturday, Texans' head coach Bill O'Brien didn't have much to say.

"Look, I think I'll keep that between myself, Brian (Gaine), and Jeff and the medical people here," O'Brien said. "I think that's the way we'll keep it right now. We'll let you any further details when it's appropriate to do that."

Allen missed four games last season, including the final two with a concussion. He does not count against the Texans' 90-man roster and can be activated at any point, though if he is still there at the end of the preseason he'd have to miss the first six weeks of the season before he can be brought back.

The 28-year old guard is due to make a little less than $6 million in the third year of a four year contract he signed with the Texans in March, 2016. He started his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
