HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Jadeveon Clowney’s hold out continues and Texans’ Head Coach Bill O’Brien isn’t sure when he may see Clowney again.

Watch NFL games now on fuboTV.

“We haven't seen him since the end of the season, so I really don't know. I can do my best to answer your question, but I really don't know,” O’Brien told the media following Wednesday’s joint practice with Detroit.

There have been conflicting reports that Clowney could return after the third preseason game, or before the start of the regular season.  There have also been rumors that Clowney could be traded.  Rumors that O’Brien hasn’t heard about.

“No, not at all,” O’Brien said about his awareness on speculation of Clowney trade rumors.

Clowney, 26, and the Texans didn’t reach an agreement on a multi-year deal before the July deadline, and while they could come to terms on a one-year contract, both sides have not been able to do so.  The Texans have the benefit of the franchise tag they placed on the five-year pro, but it is not known whether or not Clowney will play on the tag.

“When he arrives, we'll handle it when he arrives, but that's his prerogative,” O’Brien said.  “He doesn't have to be here right now. That's part of the franchise tag and all of those different things, so we'll do the best we can."
