HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Known for his love of shoes almost as much as his tenacious defense, Rockets forward P.J. Tucker announced Saturday that he will open a sneaker store in Houston.

"We're looking to do the grand opening in October," Tucker said in an Instagram Live Q&A. "We've got a lot of dope collabs coming. We're going to have some fun with it, and I'm excited about that."

Tucker has said that he's spent over $200,000 on shoes over the course of an NBA season and admitted to paying over $30,000 for a pair of Kevin Durant Nike sneakers. He started to be known for his shoe collection during his time with the Phoenix Suns, and that has continued during his three seasons with the Rockets.

"The shoe culture in Houston is cool," he said. "There's a lot of sneakerheads and a lot of people that love shoes here, a lot more than I thought. I just think there should be more activity."

Tucker did not reveal where in Houston the shop will be located.
