HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Jorge Polanco's four hit, four RBI night led the Minnesota Twins to a 9-5 win over the Astros Monday night at Minute Maid Park.

Polanco finished with a double, a homer, and he scored two runs as the Twins won their fourth straight game, taking the opener of a 3-game series.

Monday's game featured the return of Marwin Gonzalez to Minute Maid Park, and after the Astros played a three minute tribute video before the game he finished 0-for-4 with a walk.

Minnesota rallied for a pair of two-out runs in the first inning. C.J. Cron followed Nelson Cruz and Eddie Rosario singles with a 2-run double to get the scoring started. Then, Jason Castro led off the second inning with his first home run of the season to make it 3-0.

Brad Peacock started for the Astros and put up zeroes in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, but was tagged with his first loss of the season. Josh Reddick's RBI single with two gone in the third off Twins starter Jake Odorizzi got the Astros on the board. Reddick tried to score from first when Tyler White followed with a double to left-centerfield, but was thrown out at the plate by Jonathan Schoop to end the threat.

With Peacock out of the game, the Twins blew the game open in the sixth with two out against Josh James. Schoop doubled with one out and Castro walked. After Byron Buxton flied out, Max Kepler singled home Schoop. Polanco singled home Castro and an error on Reddick allowed Kepler to score. Polanco touched home plate when Cruz reached on an infield single.

Michael Brantley got one of the runs back when he started the bottom of the inning with his fourth home run of the season, and Reddick's two-out single knocked Odorizzi out of the game, but Trevor May induced a fly out from Robinson Chirinos to end the threat. Odorizzi earned his second win of the season after allowing two runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings.

After James struck out the side in the seventh, Carlos Correa smacked a Ryne Harper 2-2 fastball with George Springer and Alex Bregman on in front of him for his fourth long ball of 2019 to get the Astros back in the game, but Polanco answered with a 2-run bomb of his own off Chris Devenski the next inning. Adalberto Mejia and Blake Parker tossed zeroes for the Twins in the eighth and ninth innings.

Reddick led the Astros with three hits. Brantley added a pair as did White, who also walked twice.

The loss drops the Astros 13-9 on the season, they've lost three in a row.

The Astros and Twins will play the middle game of their three game series Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park. Wade Miley will start for the Astros against Michael Pineda.
