Game of Thrones Night And Mother's Day Weekend To Highlight Upcoming Astros Homestand

Giveaways include Verlander Replica Jersey and “Hugs for Homers” Bobblehead; Tickets start as low as $9 for next week’s games

HOUSTON, TX – Following this weekend’s historic, two-game series in Monterrey, Mexico, the Houston Astros will return home to Minute Maid Park on Monday, May 6 for a seven-game, promotion-packed homestand,  where they will host the Kansas City Royalsand Texas Rangers. 

Group tickets and suite rentals are available for select games, and single game tickets are available for all games, starting at $9. Tickets can be purchased online at Astros.com/tickets or by phone at 1-877-9ASTROS (1-877-927-8767).

TICKET AND GATE ENTRY POLICIES

As a reminder regarding tickets, all fans must either have their printed tickets in hand or utilize the MLB Ballpark App on their mobile devices to access Minute Maid Park and any Astros Street Fests. PDFs, screenshots or any photos of tickets on a mobile device will NOT be accepted, and the Astros will not be able to print tickets on-site.

As a part of the Astros ongoing commitment to the safety of all fans and in compliance with Astros security policies and other sports and entertainment venues around the country, there is no re-entry into the ballpark once fans are scanned in. Fans will also not be allowed to bring multi-zipper backpacks into the ballpark. Exceptions to this rule include diaper bags, single-compartment drawstring bags and other bags used for medical reasons. As usual, all bags will be searched prior to entry into the stadium.

In our continued effort to expedite entry and decrease the amount of time fans wait in line to get into the ballpark, the Astros have added a new entrance at Home Plate and increased the total amount of metal detectors at the entrances. Fans are still encouraged to arrive early, in order to avoid long lines and delays.

Monday, May 6 vs. Kansas City Royals - 7:10 p.m.

Prior to Monday’s game, 15,000 fans will receive a ‘Hugs for Homers’ Bobblehead, presented by Bank of America, as they enter the gates. Unique to bobblehead gate giveaways this year, fans will have the opportunity to scan one of the panels on the bobblehead box through the MLB Ballpark App Augmented Reality feature. For the ‘Hugs for Homers’ bobblehead, fans will get to see an exclusive video featuring Tony Kemp talking about what Hugs for Homers means to him. Tuesday, May 7 vs. Kansas City Royals- 7:10 p.m.

Join House Astros of Houston as they battle House Royals of Kansas City on the seventh of May at Game of Thrones® Night! Fans are encouraged to come out and enjoy the game dressed as their favorite Game of Thrones® character and have their photo taken on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms through the 7th inning, the real throne used on the set at HBO!

For fans who want to upgrade their ticket, there are three Game of Thrones® Night special ticket add-on packages available for purchase - The  Game of Thrones® Bobblehead Package, Game of Thrones® T-Shirt Package and Game of Thrones® Premium Package, which includes both the bobblehead and the t-shirt. Please note, these items are not gate giveaways and are only available for purchase through one of the listed packages. Fans must have a valid May 7 game ticket in order to purchase add-on packages. Don’t forget, every Tuesday night home game is $1 Hot Dog Night presented by Nolan Ryan Beef! Fans can purchase an unlimited number of Nolan Ryan Beef hot dogs at $1 each, while supplies last (limit of four per person per concession visit).

T-Shirt Tuesday, presented by DraftKings, also takes place every Tuesday home game. Fans have an opportunity to purchase a special ticket add-on for only $10 that includes an exclusive Astros designed t-shirt as a part of T-Shirt Tuesday. For tickets and more information, visit astros.com/tshirt.

Friday, May 10 vs. Texas Rangers - 7:10 p.m.

Mother’s Day Weekend presented by Houston Methodist kicks off on Friday with Pinot in the Park. The event will take place from5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Union Station Lobby prior to Friday’s 7:10 p.m. first pitch with wine tastings, music and bar games. Fans who want to participate in this pregame event must have a May 10 ticket and purchase a Pinot in the Park add-on. The Main Event add-on includes Astros Pinot in the Park wine stoppers, a Pinot in the Park passport valid for four (4) tastings and one (1) full glass of wine and food tastings. The SOLD OUT VIP Event add-on includes an exclusive event space on the 2nd floor of Union Station Lobby, a passport for six (6) wine tastings and one (1) full glass of wine, an Astros wine tumbler, exclusive wines, and access to a sommelier. The Special Mother’s Day Ticket Package, presented by Kenda Scott is now SOLD OUT. This ticket add-on package was available for games on May 10-12 and included a unique pink Astros jersey and a Kendra Scott Elisa pendant necklace.

Big and Bright Friday Nights returns to Minute Maid Park on Friday with a special Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, at the Budweiser Brew House. Fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, and more from the time gates open until 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game. Fans can also participate in the Friday Night Beer Crawl, which includes four unique Minute Maid Park locations with a different beer option at each location. Ballpark beer crawl starts when gates open and ends at the end of the 7th inning. Beer crawl locations will be listed on Astros.com/happyhour. Must be 21 years or older to participate. Fans are encouraged to drink responsibly.

To cap off  Big and Bright Friday Night, fans are invited to stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks, presented byConocoPhillips. This Friday’s fireworks will have a “A Woman’s Work - Female Artists” musical theme. Upon conclusion of Friday’s game and prior to the start of Friday Night Fireworks, fans will be asked to move from the following sections for their safety and enjoyment: Home Run Alley, Escalator Tower Stairs in Center Field, Budweiser Brew House Tiers, Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar, Torchy’s Deck, Crawford Boxes and sections 100-109, 205-208, 305-309, and 405-409. FANtastic Fridays makes its return this year. Each week, fans can stop by a determined location and win prizes or tickets and interact with the Astros Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew. FANtastic Fridays will take place this week at a Houston area H-E-B. An exact location will be released via the Astros social media channels on Thursday, May 9.

Saturday, May 11 vs. Texas Rangers 7:10 p.m.

Also before the game, the Astros will host families from the Sunshine Kids for their first meet and greet of the season with Astros players and coaches. The meet and greet will be held in the press conference room following Astros batting practice.

Actor and producer Wilmer Valderrama will be in attendance to throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch. He is in town for the pop culture festival, Comicpalooza, at the George R Brown Convention Center.

Sunday, May 12 vs. Texas Rangers - 1:10 p.m.

The homestand will wrap up with Mother’s Day on Sunday, as the Astros take on the Rangers for a matinee game. 10,000 fans attending Sunday’s game will receive an Astros Clutch, presented by Houston Methodist, as they enter the ballpark. As a reminder, for all Sunday gate giveaways dates, all gates will open two (2) hours prior to First Pitch. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to receive any promotional giveaways, as supplies are limited and not guaranteed.

In a special pregame ceremony on the field, staff members from Houston Methodist Breast Cancer Centers will join breast cancer survivors, patients, supporters, employees and families from The Rose organization to form a human pink ribbon on the field.

The Astros will recognize Honorary Bat Girl Cindy Saenz with a Ceremonial First Pitch. At the age of 36, Cindy was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. Since beating breast cancer, Cindy has been an active supporter, fundraiser, spokesperson and volunteer for Komen Houston Race for the Cure ®. She has raised closed to $100,000 and has been recognized as a Komen Pink Honor Roll Member Top 100 Fundraiser since 2003. In addition, she has volunteered with countless other cancer organizations and initiatives.

Following the game, fans have the opportunity to participate in a 45-minute postgame yoga class in the outfield! Yoga Day, presented by Houston Methodist, will include a 45-minute instructor led class and an Astros yoga mat. Kids Run the Bases, presented by Securian Financial, will take place following the last out of the game. Kids 5-12 are eligible to participate and can line up at Section 130 starting at the end of the seventh inning.
