HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Rockets could be without one of their fan favorites this season.

Gerald Green's broken foot appears to be worse than initially expected and the team fears he will miss the season, according to multiple media reports.

The Athletic's Sham Charania reported the news Tuesday afternoon.

Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported the broken left foot is feared to be a Lisfranc fracture that would require season-ending surgery.

Green, a Houston-native, is expected to see another specialist Tuesday to get confirmation, MacMahon reported.

The Rockets begin the regular season at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, Oct. 24.
