Rockets Finish 4th, Draw Jazz In First Round

Game 1 will be Sunday night at Toyota Center

April 11, 2019 - 12:32 am

The Rockets 2019 playoff run will start with the team they dispatched in the second round last season as they are matched up with the Utah Jazz in a series that will begin Sunday night at Toyota Center.

The Rockets finished fourth in the Western Conference after Portland came from 25 points down at halftime to beat Sacramento and Denver closed out its 99-95 win over Minnesota on a 15-0 run. This came after the Rockets lost their regular season finale Tuesday night on Oklahoma City on a Paul George three-pointer with one second left on the clock.

The Rockets finished 2-2 against the Jazz after winning eight-of-nine against them a season ago. The last time the two teams met was February 2, when the Rockets won by 27 in Salt Lake City without Chris Paul and Clint Capela.

The winner of this series will play Golden State or the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The series schedule is below:

Game 1: Sunday, April 14 at Houston (8:30)
