HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Houston Rockets blew a 16-point halftime lead and dropped their season opener to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night 117-111.

The Rockets clicked early in this game, jumping out to a 17-5 lead in the first few minutes. They led by 16 at halftime.

But the Bucks, led by reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, rallied in the second half.

The Houston lead was cut to nine points by the end of the third quarter and the Bucks thoroughly outplayed the Rockets in the fourth.

Russell Westbrook led the Rockets with 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. He also had three steals and a block.

James Harden put up 19 points, but was only 2-for-13 from the field and 1-for-8 from the 3-point line. Fourteen of his points came from the free throw line.

Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists before fouling out in the fourth quarter. All Bucks starters scored double figures.

The Rockets play again Saturday, when they host the New Orleans Pelicans.
