HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- On the back of Luka Doncic's 41 point, 10 assist day, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Rockets Sunday afternoon at Toyota Center 137-123, handing the Rockets their third straight loss.

The Mavs never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 22 points on the way to their fifth straight win.

Dallas took advantage of three straight Rockets turnovers and scored the game's first seven points, and built its lead to 16-4 when Doncic drained a step-back three-pointer less than three minutes in. Houston pulled to within a bucket when James Harden connected from long-range with 2:41 left in the quarter, but the Mavs closed the quarter on a 16-2 run and led 45-29 after the first 12 minutes. They grew the lead to 19, and while the Rockets got as close to 10, Dallas still led by 18 at the break. Harden led all scorers with 21, but Tim Hardaway Jr scored 19 and Doncic poured in 17 as the Mavs shot 53 percent from the field.

The lead grew to 20 early in the third when Doncic connected from deep with 9:16 to play, but the Rockets cut the lead in half by the time the period ended, and had the lead down to five on three different instances in the fourth, the last coming on Clint Capela's put-back dunk with 7:39 remaining, but Dallas scored the next five points, and after Danuel House's 14-footer stopped that mini-burst, the Mavericks scored seven in a row, eventually pushing their lead to as many as 22.

Doncic shot 15-of-29 from the field and added six rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 31 points while Kristaps Porzingis added 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavs, who improve to 11-5 on the season.

Harden led the Rockets with 32 points, but he connected on just 2-of-15 three-point attempts, missing 11 in a row at one point. Russell Westbrook scored 27 points, and Capela chipped in 21 points and 22 rebounds.

The Rockets shot just 10-of-44 from behind the 3-point stripe, with House and P.J. Tucker combining to make 5-of-13. Both scored 16 points as the Rockets fall to 11-6.

Wednesday night, the Rockets return to action when they host the Miami Heat.
