HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – The four preseason opponents for the Texans have been released.

In the first week of the preseason the Texans will head to Kansas City to face the defending AFC West champs.  The Chiefs traded Alex Smith in the offseason and will turn to Patrick Mahomes to lead their team in his second season.

The Texans will play their first home preseason game the following week when they host Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers.  San Francisco finished the 2017 season on a high note with five straight victories, which was the longest winning streak to close out the regular season.

In week three of the preseason, the Texans will head to the city of angels when they face the Los Angeles Rams.  The Rams have had the most entertaining offseason with the additions of Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks.

The Cowboys will be the final preseason opponent for the Texans in the annual preseason matchup between the two teams.  Dallas went 9-7 last year and missed the playoffs.  In 2017 the Cowboys were scheduled to come to Houston for the 4th preseason game but the game was cancelled because of Hurricane Harvey.

Dates and times of the four preseason games will be released in the next few weeks when the NFL announces the entire schedule.
