Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - Lonnie Johnson Jr. is set to fill a crucial spot for the Texans at cornerback. He spent two seasons at Garden City Community College in southwest Kansas before transfering to the Universitry of Kentucky for his junior and senior years. At Kentucky he had 64 tackles, two blocked kicks and one interception.

One of Lonnie's best games came as a junior against Louisville where he had a career-high seven tackles. In his final game with the Wildcats in the 2018 Citrus Bowl, he had an interception along with four tackles to help lead Kentucky to their first postseason victory since 2009. Johnson Jr. is from Gary, Indiana and also ran track and field in high school.
