(SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans have agreed to a deal with free agent defensive tackle Tim Jernigan, according to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson

It's a one-year deal worth a maximum of $3.75 million, Wilson reports.

Jernigan has played six NFL seasons -- his first three years with the Baltimore Ravens and the last three with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jernigan was part of the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning team from the 2017 season.

The Texans needed to fill the void left by D.J. Reader's departure in free agency.

Jernigan started in nine of the 10 games he played in 2019. He recorded two sacks, three tackles for loss and three quarterback hits.
