HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) -- The Texans have waived punter Trevor Daniel and signed free agent Bryan Anger to replace him, the team announced Tuesday

Anger was with the Texans during the preseason but did not make the 53-man roster.

Daniel punted seven times in Sunday's 13-12 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Only one of those punts landed inside the opposing 20-yard line. His counterpart, Jaguars punter Logan Cooke, landed four of his six punts inside the 20.

In the Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Daniel dropped only one of his four punt attempts inside the opposing 20-yard line.
