Do you feel that in the air? It's almost time for Houston Texans training camp! The Texans head to The Greenbrier and begin camp on July 26th, and we will have ALL of the coverage from West Virginia and here in Houston. But there are other interesting stories around the NFL. It almost feels like they are scripted episodes but it's not.

Here are the Top 5 Other NFL Stories:

1. The Cleveland Browns

I know. HA! I'm talking about the team that has logged four wins and seven starting quarterbacks in the last three seasons? Yes, that's the team. We expect them to be that bad, right? I think with the moves in the offseason and the players selected in the draft, this team is exciting on paper.

Quarterback: How can you miss 28 times? It's like the Rockets missing 27 consecutive three-pointers in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. How can that mathematically happen? How can a team miss on so many quarterbacks in 18 years? I guess you can say that Tim Couch and Derek Anderson were the best QBs that played since 1999?

Enter Baker Mayfield. A walk-on quarterback for two different colleges, Heisman Trophy winner, and has won football games at every level. Yes, he reminds you of a former Texan named Johnny Manziel. There are little things that make him not Johnny Maziel. Football wasn't Johnny's focus. Johnny loved Johnny. Mayfield is all about football and winning. Unlike Johnny, Mayfield is a pass-first quarterback who CAN run if needed.

The Browns signed this other quarterback named Tyrod Taylor and should be the starter heading into training camp.

Wide Receivers: Josh Gordon is back and looks to have that other gear of speed, and they signed Javis Landry. Landry is easily a top-ten WR in the NFL. He chose Cleveland. It's not a Kawhi situation where the player doesn't want to play for their team, and they're shipped to Canada. HE. WANTED. CLEVELAND.

I can't wait until Hard Knocks. This team could be as entertaining as Jay Culter on reality T.V.

The Rookies: Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, and Mason Rudolph are all in the spotlight. Who will pan out to be a solid NFL player and who will be Brandon Weeden?

The New Starters: Tyrod Taylor - Browns, Patrick Mahomes - Chiefs, AJ McCarron or Josh Allen - Bills, Case Keenum - Broncos, Alex Smith - Washington, Kirk Cousins - Vikings, Sam Bradford or Josh Allen - Cardinals, and will Jimmy Garoppolo continue his success for the 49ers? (bold=my favorites)

3. The AFC South QBs

Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson, and Marcus Mariota all were injured in 2017. Not Blake Bortles. Blake Bortles was so close to beating Tom Brady and the Patriots. Will he be better? Will Andrew Luck be the same? Can Mariota make it a whole season without missing a start? Will Deshaun Watson be on the pace he set before his injury in 2017.

4. Chucky back in Oakland

Jon Gruden is back in Oakland. If I just wrote that - it would be enough. The team has a talented QB, an superior o-line, and some talent on defense. Can Gruden put it together? Will Spider 2 Y Banana supries anyone? Can he make Amari Cooper catch a football again?

5. Who will start when Carson Wentz is healthy?

Could you imagine having this problem as a head coach? You have an emerging elite/young QB who could be a franchise leader for the next ten years and the Super Bowl MVP back-up. What do you do? Logically, you find a trade partner for Nick Foles and keep Carson Wentz, right? Nick struggled with the Rams (could be Fisher's fault), but has always been solid in Philly. Do you keep Foles and get a king's ransom for Wentz? I think a franchise would give up so much to have a guy like Wentz.
