Former Rockets player found dead after stand-off

LOS ANGELES, California - Former Houston Rockets basketball player, Tyler Honeycutt, was found dead in his Sherman Oaks residence after a long stand-off with Police.

Honeycutt was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2013 and was assigned to the D-League shortly after. Honeycutt later played overseas.  

LAPD responded to a call about a possibly suicidal man with a handgun. Once officers arrived, they confronted Honeycutt and he allegedly fired the handgun at officers. 


According to the LAPD Twitter account, SWAT entered the home and discovered the man's body, later identified by family as Tyler Honeycutt, police said in a tweet.
