Listen to your team news NOW.

The XFL revealed the names of all eight teams on Wednesday and with Houston's team and logo, they pulled influence from past and present Houston NFL teams. The logo is reminiscent of the old Houston Oilers logo featuring an oil derrick with an "H" included in the structure and more of a color scheme that resembles the Houston Texans' colors.

"Resolute. Rippling with heat. Railing against fatigue. Unceasing and often unseen, they labor deep in the trenches. Mercenaries in the muck. Brawlers in blackened dirt. Not just for three hours. Not just when the lights are bright. These are the scratching, grinding, never-bending few. The Houston Roughnecks. Going to work for you."

The XFL also announced Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay, and Washington D.C. team names on Wednesday.
