HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- It meant a lot to Taiwan Jones to be involved in one of the most memorable moments in Texans franchise history last week.

Jones’ 34-yard catch-and-run after Deshaun Watson escaped two defenders crashing at him set up the Texans’ game-winning field goal against the wild-card game against Bills

As fast as he is (4.33 seconds in 40-yard dash), Jones was expecting to score on the play against his former team.

The effect was the same.

The Texans are playing in the AFC divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jones has become one of the team’s bright spots as of late, earning his first carries in Week 17 when the Texans were resting their starters for the postseason.

Jones ran for 40 yards on nine carries and caught a nine-yard pass.

It was enough to earn Jones a package of plays against the Bills.

His duty had been limited to special teams until the season finale against the Tennessee Titans. Jones had been inactive a couple of weeks before the finale.

Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said Jones is someone who could play several different skill positions.

In training camp, they even considered playing him at cornerback because of his speed and skills.

"I think the one thing about Taiwan is that we've always – even when he was on other teams, we've always studied him and known that he had, obviously special teams ability, but offensive ability, too, to do different things in the backfield or as a receiver. We even, back in training camp, I think we either talked to him – I don't know if we actually did it, but talked to him, we had some injuries at corner, to play him at corner. So, he's a very multiple position guy and the big thing with him is he's just been dealing with some injuries throughout the year. We've had to be very specific about what his role would be from game to game. But he's a multi-purpose guy that can do a lot of different things."
